Rebuilding a high-traffic Printify site on Gutenberg, with zero downtime

Printify is one of the largest print-on-demand platforms in the world.
After years of growth had left it cluttered with conflicting tools, slowing performance and making updates difficult for the marketing team. We rebuilt the site on WordPress's native Gutenberg editor, clearing out the accumulated technical debt while keeping the platform running seamlessly with a true zero-downtime migration for a site that generates traffic and sales every single minute.
Project Scope
We built a flexible system where old and new pages work together perfectly, allowing us to update the site with zero risk of downtime.
The Numbers Behind the Transformation
Our comprehensive digital overhaul triggered an immediate surge across all critical performance metrics.
“We appreciated the level of enthusiasm, and how they explained how their developers would tackle the problem. I also appreciated how the xfive engineers worked together with our engineers, and how they adapted to the way we worked. Xfive did a great job”
Features
Seamless Transition (Zero Downtime)
We built a smart loading system that only loads old page-builder files on pages that still need them. This prevented technical conflicts and allowed us to update the live site completely behind the scenes.
Easy Page Production
With a library of over 100 ready-made drag-and-drop blocks, the marketing team can now easily build and launch new landing pages entirely on their own.
Cleaner, Faster Code
Previously, the website had a visitor's browser to load all the code for the entire site at once. Now, the website only loads the exact pieces of code needed for the specific page a visitor is viewing. This makes the site much smoother and significantly faster to load.
